Plant passports and labels

EU plant passports, issued from your shipments.

Every passport carries the four elements Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2313 requires. Issue it when you confirm a shipment, from a CSV file, through the API or by hand, and print it on the labels you already use.

No card needed. Then one plan, or a read-only account that keeps every record and printed label.

What you get

The label your plants travel with, done right.

Four ways to issue

Confirm a shipment, import a CSV file, call the REST API, or fill in the form. One passport at a time, or many at once.

Every label format

A single-label PDF, two on an A4 sheet, or ZPL for thermal printers at 203, 300 or 600 dpi, in ready sizes for rolls, hang tags, stick-in and loop-lock labels.

QR code or EAN-13

Add a QR code that opens the public check page, or a GS1 Digital Link built from your EAN-13, and print your EAN-13 as a barcode.

Protected zones and replacements

"Plant Passport – PZ", with the quarantine pest under the title, and replacement passports that leave the original on the record.

Checked by anyone

Whoever receives your plants can check a passport by its code or QR, on a public page, free and without an account.

Qualità CE supplier documents

Operators registered in Italy also issue the ornamental Qualità CE supplier document, as PDF or ZPL.

Plant passports, built in

Four elements. Every one, every time.

Every passport carries what Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2313 requires, whether it comes from a shipment, a CSV file, the API or your own hands.

A

Botanical name

The plant's scientific name — e.g. Lavandula angustifolia. A mixed planting gets one passport with every name in the mix.

B

Operator

Your registered professional operator code, identifying who is responsible.

C

Traceability

A unique code tying the passport back to the batch it came from.

D

Country of origin

The country where the plant was grown, as an ISO code.

Issuing into a protected zone?

The label becomes "Plant Passport – PZ" and names the quarantine pest right under the title. Element D still shows the country of origin — exactly as the regulation requires.

  • PDF
  • A4 · 2 per sheet
  • ZPL · 203, 300 or 600 dpi
  • QR or GS1 Digital Link
  • EAN-13 barcode
  • Rolls, tags, stick-in and loop-lock labels
How it works

Your details once, then every passport.

1

Enter your details once

Your registration number, which is element B, and your company details go in once.

2

Add species and batches

Element A comes from the species, C from the batch's traceability code, D from the country where the plants were grown.

3

Issue and print

Confirm a shipment, or issue a passport by hand, then print it on your label printer or on A4 sheets.

Guides

The rules behind it, in plain language.

The plant passport label: what the EU flag and A, B, C, D mean

What each part of an EU plant passport label means: the EU flag, the letters A to D, the PZ version, replacement passports, and what the label leaves out.

Protected zones and the PZ plant passport

What an EU protected zone is, when plants need a PZ plant passport, what changes on the label, and the protected zones that matter to growers in Italy.

How to check a plant passport

There is no public EU database of plant passports. How to read the A, B, C and D on the label, what you can check yourself, and who to ask when in doubt.

The RUOP code: Italy's register of professional operators

Who must register on Italy's RUOP, who is exempt, how to get a RUOP code, why it alone does not let you issue plant passports, and the regional lists.
